The company, Pokhara Noodles Private Limited, has been registered in 2048 B.S and started the production from the Financial Year 2051/52 at Pokhara Industrial Estate, Pokhara Sub-Metropolis. With the established brands like Ramba and Jojo, the company has excelled its quality and market share in the short period. With the old machine, the company was bound to target the remote customers. However, with the installation of new plant, the company has developed niche among the urban customers also. Initially, the company was started with the in house developed machine. The initial investment was low, but the machine couldn’t maintain the quality desired by customers. In the times of stiff competition, where the customers are aware about quality and other established brand names already exist, the new plant was installed to ensure the viabity of the plant.
The Company occupies around 5-7% of the total noodles market of the country. With the advanced machinery and the positive market response for “Ramba “ noodles in the market, the company is determined to compete in the market and pick up the market share to some material portion.

Pokhara Noodles Private Limited manufactures instant noodles. The company has pioneered mainly on production of white noodles. Company’s branded product “Ramba” has good customer response. Further, the successful launch of meal packs in both white and brown segment has added zeal on management to seek new avenues for growth.
The Market trend of noodles is very fluctuating. Quality product coupled with competitive pricing is essential to grab the market. Launching new products and maintaining the quality is essential. The sales of the company were around 31 Crores during 2063-64 which declined to 29 Crores in 2064-65. Further, the endeavor of management by launching new products and new schemes resulted increase in sales to approx 38 Crores. However, inability to retain the market and the quality again resulted the decline in sales. The sales trend clearly indicates that the management is striving to increase the sales by launching new and quality product. However, the inherent constraint of the management i.e. old and traditional plant and machinery is resulting the inability of the management to retain the increasing sales. The demand for noodles is increasing. Total noodles sale in Nepal amount to approx Rs 1500 Crores. White noodles are very much popular in hilly and rural areas. Brown noodles is popular in all part of the country either it be rural or urban. Our company accounts for about 8% of the total noodles consumption in the country. This indicates that there is huge untapped market where we can still penetrate. Position of Pokhara Noodles in Market:
With history of approx 25 years in this segment, Pokhara Noodles have strong position in noodles market. The Company has brand image in white noodles segment and is second after RARA noodles. Further, the expansion of market and introduction of new and premium brands has added mileage to the growth of the company. Currently, the company holds approx 8% of total market share and around 40% of overall white noodles market in Nepal. Further, the introduction of new and premium brands have created new wave in market. Sales has increased rapidly. The management hopes to capture material portion of noodles market in next 2-3 years.
